NPBS Logo

The NPBS (Natural Products and Biological Sources) Atlas, established through systematic text mining and expert manual curation of vast scientific literatures, serves as a comprehensive repository hosting over 218,000 characterized natural products with detailed biological source annotations.

Each natural product integrates systematically organized data fields encompassing: identifiers, chemical structures, names, bioactivities, biosynthetic pathways, chemical classifications, calculated properties, references, and biological origin organisms.

Notably distinguishing itself from existing resources, the database places special emphasis on curating organism source data through the information of scientific nomenclature, taxonomic classification, specific area (marine natural products), source parts, and the source of traditional Chinese medicines, thereby enabling unprecedented exploration of nature-derived chemical diversity through biological context.

Access and use of this database are limited to non-commercial purposes, see License and Terms.

If you encounter any issues while using the database, please contact: siochemdb@sioc.ac.cn

Protocols

Approved under National Basic Science Data Center (NBSDC) accreditation standards, the quality-assured data of this database was processed, audited, and published through authorized protocols.

Support

The project is supported by: The Informatization Plan of Chinese Academy of Sciences (No. CAS-WX2021SF-0307-2022).
